Church at Red RiverShreveport, LA As the only son in a family of seven, Troy charmed (they might say “annoyed”) his four sisters and grew up happy in a loving south Louisiana home. While a junior at LSU and after a two year stint in the Navy, Troy answered the call of God on his life and headed for San Antonio to study at International Bible College (IBC). While there, he fell for his future wife, Anna Joy (her cherry pies sealed the deal), and in 1980 graduated with a degree in Theology. Knowing the Lord was calling him for pastoral work, he and his family moved to Austin, Texas, where he graduated from seminary in 1990. Since that time, Troy pastored First Presbyterian Church in Crowley, Louisiana; served as president of IBC in San Antonio; and from 1997-2001 was on the pastoral staff of Bethany World Prayer Center in Baker, Louisiana, having his hand in everything from teaching and writing to running the children’s ministry. In August 2001, Troy and Anna Joy, along with their daughters Amy and Katie, pursued the dream God gave them and moved to Shreveport, Louisiana to plant “Church at Red River.” Seeing that dream fulfilled is the passion of their hearts. |
