Joseph and Sola Thompson

Originally from Nigeria, Joseph Thompson is the Lead Pastor of The Well. He has nurtured the vision for a truly multiracial and multigenerational church for more than three years before planting the Church at The Well. His consuming passion to see all nations worship and bow before the King of kings led him to found Light The Nations Ministries (the missions outreach and conference arm of The Well), which focuses on city transformation, church growth and leadership development. Global ministry networking, deliverance and spiritual warfare are also key components of his ministry.
A gifted teacher of the Bible, Joseph served as Associate Pastor to Pastor Ted Haggard at New Life Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado, for over four years.

Joseph’s academic background include two bachelor’s degrees as well as courses towards a master’s of divinity. He travels across the United States and to many other nations, teaching in local churches, conferences and seminars. His easy and humorous delivery style makes the demand for his ministry continuous. Joseph is the author of a book entitled “I’m a Christian, So How Can I Have Demons?” and co-editor with Dr. C. Peter Wagner of Out of Africa- How the Spiritual Explosion among Nigerians is impacting the World.

Joseph has lived in the United States for over 14 years. He and Sola, his lovely wife of 17 years, have three children: a son, Demi, and two daughters, Bimi and Temi.
