Building ChurchHuntsville, AL David and Stephanie Pursifull David graduated from high school in Morris, Alabama, then attended the University of Alabama in Birmingham. In 1986 he felt God leading him to prepare for ministry. He transferred from UAB to Bible College in Baton Rouge where he became a member of Bethany World Prayer Center. In Baton Rouge, he met his wife Stephanie and they were married in 1990. He began his ministry in 1991 under Pastor Larry Stockstill of Bethany World Prayer Center near Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He and his wife became involved in church-planting in Latin America, then in regions all over the world. In 2001, David was asked to be the coordinator for the Global 12 Project and in seven years saw over 12,000 churches planted around the world and traveled to almost 40 countries training leaders and networking with leaders to target unreached areas with the Gospel. From 2001 – 2007 he has been part of the full-time pastoral staff at Bethany under Pastor Larry. David’s family is originally from the Birmingham area, and after being in Baton Rouge several years, he began to feel God calling him back to North Alabama. The dream: to plant a new church in the fast-growing area of Madison County. David and Stephanie moved to Huntsville this summer (2007) with the dream of building a life-giving church focused on the simplicity of the gospel and the power of an intimate relationship with a loving God. Their goal at the Building Church is to build people; giving them hope, healing, and help in finding their purpose in life. |
